City at your fingertips.

City centre is a charming and pedestrian friendly area, full of historical charm and modern vibes. Combining historic and modern architecture with a diverse range of events, it matches the world's major capitals in quality, and in many ways exceeds them due to its more manageable size.

Knafelj Passage

In contrast to Čopova Street, which is bursting with life, just a step away you will find Knafelj Passage, which can be accessed from either Wolfova or Slovenska Street. This hidden gem in the heart of the city centre offers quiet and intimate surroundings, despite its location among the busiest streets in Ljubljana's city centre.

Congress Square

Is one of the most central squares in Ljubljana and was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2021. Its open design offers a venue for numerous cultural events. It is next to the Zvezda Park, where mighty plane trees provide plenty of shade for relaxing and enjoying the city's vibe. Beneath the park there is a two-storey modern public parking garage with more than 700 parking spaces.

Gastronomy

Ljubljana is a small world, which is also reflected in the city's culinary offer. It's a wonderful mix of traditional Slovenian flavours and modern gastronomy. Like the city itself, many renowned restaurants are committed to sustainable development, serving their guests local ingredients from nearby farms and the city's colourful farmer’s market.

Cultural events

About architecture

A unique view of Ljubljana Castle amidst urban greenery.
The architectural design of the apartments in the Knafelj Residence is primarily defined by its relation to the nearby green surroundings and its one-sided orientation to the east and south.
API architects have designed a residential and commercial building that relates to the narrow city centre of Ljubljana, which is renowned for its green image, through large living terraces and greenery on the facade.
An important architectural feature is the ground floor passageway, which, past newly designed shops and a café, connects Čopova Street on one side and Knafelj Passage and Zvezda Park on the other, creating a unique green passageway through the heart of the city.
An important element of the architectural design is also the stone façade in a green tone and large flowerpots with lush greenery, addressing the natural vegetation of the surroundings and reflecting it with its large glass surfaces.
The concept is therefore based on the green environment and the open views from the Knafelj Residence, which, with its micro-location and the ground floor passageway, thus co-creates one of the most important spaces in the city centre.

Ljubljana, a city you can feel

The capital of Slovenia is a charming city, known for its picturesque architecture, rich cultural events and plenty of green spaces. The Ljubljanica River winds through the city, with lively cafés and restaurants lining its banks, as well as characteristic bridges such as the Tromostovje and the Zmajski Most.

The medieval castle, perched on a hill in the city centre, offers panoramic views of the countryside, while the city centre is a maze of cobbled streets, architecturally sophisticated and historically significant buildings and lively squares.

Ljubljana is known worldwide for its commitment to sustainability, with its pedestrian-friendly city centre and numerous parks, making it one of Europe's greenest capitals.
